My fiance came home a couple of weeks back saying he wanted to buy a Mustang.
I thought for sure he was just talking gibberish and it was a thought that would slowly fade. You see he goes through periods of time where he has an idea and within a week or two he changes his mind. First it was we were picking up and moving to the country, then it was that we were going to buy an RV. Well each of those things has never happened and I don't think they well in the near future. I thought this idea would be one of them.
I watched as he did the normal nightly research on the computer to learn all he could about this new idea. He watched reviews on you tube and read every link that popped up into Google. The next stage as with every idea is now to find the one I like. This is also just hours each night looking into a computer screen. Then he found one.
This also has happened with every other idea and we even looked at a house once, yet we never moved so still I was not concerned it would really happen. I never gave much thought into it when he asked me to come with him for a test drive.
It was when we were talking to the dealer after and he was signing paper work that it finally hit me. He is serious! He really is going to buy a Mustang. It was that night I chatted with him and he gave me all the details. He had worked out the money and he knew the budget.
He got upset with me that I was not getting excited about the new purchase. I never have been much of a car girl. I sit in it and it gets me places and that is about it for me. I had never been in a sports car before, yes they looked nice but that was it. Then this past weekend we went for an extended test drive in the one he liked the most. It was a convertible and I hated the idea. All i could think of was how messy my hair was going to get.
On that day I wore my hair up in a braid and I was ready to go. I would try to be happy for him, he wanted me to get all excited about it too. Then we started to drive. We went along this one country road that was filled with twists and surrounded by a huge forest. It was picture perfect. The sun was beating down on my face and the music filled the air.
Then I got it.... and now we own it!
