Well I come home every day on my lunch hour to let our puppies out to pee and give them lunch. As I was serving them lunch I noticed that one of dogs were leaving wet paw marks all over the floor. I was curious why. I thought maybe he had peed. So I started to look for the source.
It did not take me long to find the enormous amount of water all over my kitchen floor and then I looked up. At this point I wanted to scream and cry. My ceiling was covered in brown water spots. My dome light was full of water and pouring more water onto my floor by the second.
I got all the towels I could find and a bucket and started to clean up the mess. As I did this I also called my fiance to inform him of our indoor pool situation. He asked me to turn off the water to the whole house so that at least I would not have more water to deal with. Turns out one of toilets overflowed for some reason the whole time I was gone.
When I went into the washroom I honestly wanted to vomit. The smell was horrible. Dirty water covered my washroom and it looked as if sewage had come up from the drain. I did my best to clean up most of it.
I then got on the phone with my insurance company. This is when I started to feel relieved. They were at my house within hours. They scrubbed everything clean and sanitized my bathroom and kitchen. They then removed anything that had been damage. Next they said they had to put fans in to dry everything to prevent mold. The fans would have to be on 24hrs a day for three days straight. Today I get to turn them off finally. These fans yes are doing a lot of good, but make my house sound and feel like a hurricane is blowing through. In the end yes I am getting a reno done on my bathroom and kitchen that I did want done but just not like this and not with the craziness as well.
