When I started to blog I heard of two types of pages. The free ones and the paid ones. Now I was not going to making money off of doing my blog and I was just doing it for fun in the beginning so I was not about to pay unless I had to.
My sister in law had a pretty nice site and she was the one that got me into the blogging scene so I asked her what she used. She used blogger. So I got myself a page on blogger. My sister in law helped me set it up and then every time I wanted something changed on the site she would help me out. She spent one who day once sitting there and editing my page.
I was enjoying my site but I disliked that I had to ask for help every time I wanted to do something on my page. I never learned how she was doing all the editing because she was an hour away in her house so it was just a matter of she just did it. It was not the look I wanted. It did not feel complete ever. I wanted to change more but did not have the heart to keep bugging her.
I felt like my site had hit a dead end. It would always look the same, don't get me wrong it looked nice but I wanted to be able to change it. I wanted to have the freedom and independence on my own site. Yet even when asked to add a button on my page I got lost. The minute you said "Well you just add this html code..." I would zone out. Computers and I had an understanding. I would not mess with it and it would not mess with me. I knew enough to get by and I look like I know what I was doing and that just worked fine.
Every so often I would look up videos on how to learn how to change things on my website and I would get confused just watching the video. I was hopeless when it came to technology.
As is the community of bloggers everyone chats and shares. Then one day I shared my concerns and issues I had with my site with a fellow blogger. I told her I loved her site and I wished I had the know how to make one like hers. She laughed and told me she was just as technically challenged as I was but just had found a different site other then blogger to host her website. I then rolled my eyes and asked "How much?" My jaw hit the floor when she giggled and said "Free."
As I looked into the new host site she used I saw that you had many options if you did want to update to a paid site without losing content or having to redo a whole web page. This host had videos I could understand to help guide you on building a designing your page.
To say the least it was idiot prof. Even when it came to editing a post it gave you so many more options then I had ever seen. It linked to all your social media accounts to enable easy sharing when I post was published. I loved this site and spent a whole week redoing my page and redo my old posts onto the new site. (This is why in June I have been posting about being stuck inside due to the snow outside or cold. Previous to today's date and post all posts were written and on my old site but I loved them and did not want to lose them so I added them onto this site. Now all posts will be new and more timely to the time of year.)
What am I saying... I LOVE WEEBLY!!!
I would suggest it to anyone starting out or looking for a change. It is so easy and personally I think it looks better then I could of ever made my blogger site ever look.
So long story short.... I welcome you to my new website I hope you enjoy the new look!
